In 2015, the Missouri DOT installed Maintainable Weep Hole Filters along a pre-cast retaining wall which ran along the exit ramp from I-44 at Berry St. The enormous wall held up the express way.
The wall was showing signs of stress due to the build up of hydrostatic pressure. Replacing or performing major repairs would be cost prohibitive and significantly impact traffic.
To quickly and cost-effectively restore drainage, MoDOT selected Maintainable Weep Hole Filters by JET Filter System. MoDOT installed 20 4" Stainless Steel, Open-end units along the wall to relieve built up pressure.
After the units were installed, dye was pored through the surface drainage up along the express way...
...and, monitored draining through the Weep Hole Filters.
Maintainable Weep Hole Filters are an innovative solution to extend the life of any earth retaining structure including Seawalls, Bridge Abutments, Wing Walls, Retaining Walls, Box Culverts, Dam Spillways, and more. Call for more information 1-800-475-2029 or info@jetfiltersystem.com.
